I've been lurking way to long......
I need to post a message about the ScarySharp (TM) Method, but I
guess I need to send my Bio first.
I'm an Aerospace Engineer for the U.S. Navy working in the research
and design aspects of weapon systems. I'm 34 and single. I live in
the middle of the California high desert about 150 miles from
anywhere important. Needless to say, I have a hard time finding
woodworking resources. I usually drive to L.A. to get wood.
I'm just starting getting into woodworking with both power tools and
hand tools. For now, I'll use whichever method seems to be most
effective. I like using hand planes since I can own a whole lot of
them for the price of one power tool, and I get the job done just as
quickly and accurately.
I just purchased #4, #5 and #7 and #9 1/2 Stanley hand planes. I
think they will keep me busy for a while. I just got to figure how
to sharpen them real good. I like the ScarySharp (TM) method, I got
some questions, but I'll post another message about it.
If anyone knows some good tool/wood resources in the L.A. area, send
me a message.
