This is the second run of goods for January. We are in a temporary
"warm up" weather wise but that ain't gonna last. Some new and some old
in the list.
PayPal is now accepted and preferred (if you use it) on all items. On
items less than $25 (not including shipping) I would appreciate you
using the Send Money to Family & Friends option so I don't get killed
with the fees but that is your call. Checks and money orders are still
welcome, it just seems that 1st Class letters seem to be taking forever
to get from there to here.
And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!
First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know ya
or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First Class
mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping cover the cost
of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.
Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

H Chapin Union Factory No 208 Ogee Molding Plane. The cut is 1 3/8"
wide and this weighs 1 lb 9 3/4 oz unboxed. This is in good condition
and the only cleaning was to take some rust off the iron. Note: this is
straight, any bending you see is because of camera lens distortion. The
body is good other than a few stains. There are a few knotholes and
some pencil marks on the top. The sole is also good other that a little
rust staining behind the mouth. The mouth is tight and was never messed
with. The wedge has a couple of light dings on the finial but nothing
too bad. The iron is clean on the cutting face other than a few very
light and small spots. I did take a little bit of mushrooming off of
the end of the tang. I have to say, that molding planes of this age
rarely show up in this kind of shape any more. $45.00

Forsyth Mfg Pat 1897 Bicycle Adjustable Spanner Wrench. Measuring 3
7/8" long and this weighs 1 oz unboxed. Herbert B. Rose of Buffalo, NY
was granted Pat. No. 593,543 on Nov. 9, 1897 for the design of this tool
which was made by the Forsyth Manufacturing Company also of Buffalo, NY.
The full patent title is "Improved Device For Adjusting The Cones of
Ball-Bearings and Other Analogous Purposes" How's that for a can of
beans eh? This is in reasonably good condition for being at the least
100 years old and was cleaned. There is a little patina on the arms but
nothing too bad. The tips are good. The one hole has a crack on the
side that has been there since this was made, but the tip is in tight.
The joint is good as well. This is a neat little tool to say the least.

Early Hand Forged Double Face Stone Mason Hammer Head. Measuring 4 3/8"
long, the faces are 2 3/16" high, 1 1/8" wide (across the centers), and
this weighs 2 lbs 13 1/4 oz unboxed. There is a star touchmark on the
top and a weight mark on the underside. I was told by the guy I got
this off of, that he brought it back from England where he was working
as as stone mason. This is in reasonably good condition for the age and
use and was cleaned. There is a little patina but then working stone
ain't exactly an indoor sport. The faces have some light pitting and
dings but still have plenty of life left in them. The punched eye is
good to go. This style of hammer does not show up very often over here.

Small Perfect Handle Style Screwdriver. Measuring 4 7/8" long, the tip
is a little under 1/4" wide, and this weighs 1 1/2 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker, it is just marked Germany where most of these
were made. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The blade was
dressed at some point but it's good to go. The shaft and frame have
some staining but nothing too bad patina wise. The handle scales have
some dings and stains. They are on tight. I did take a whisker of
mushrooming off the end. This ain't minty but as these guys go, well it
sure ain't bad either. $18.00

Stanley Rule & Level Small Turnscrew Or Screwdriver. Measuring 5 7/16"
long, the tip is 1/4" wide, and this weighs 1 oz unboxed. The mark has
some patina on it but some of it is visible. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. The blade has some light pitting on both
sides. The tip was dressed recently and is good to go. The handle has
some dings and stains but retains most of the original finish. This
ain't pristine but these smaller ones of this age rarely are. $19.00

Bell System Pointed Peen Linesman Hammer. Measuring 9" overall, the
head is 3 9/16" long, the face is 1" in diameter, the peen is 1/2" in
diameter, and this weighs 1 lb 7 3/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably
good condition and was cleaned. There is some wear to the finish on the
head but most of it is there. The face has some light dings and the
peen is good. The handle also has the original finish. There are some
dings and tiny bits of paint but nothing too bad. The head wiggles a
touch but it's not going any where. This ain't pristine but it sure
ain't bad either. $26.00

Early Hammer Poll Hand Adze Head. Measuring 7 1/4" long (straight
across), the edge is 2 5/8" wide, the steel bit is 1 1/8" deep at the
center, 1 1/4" at the ends, and this weighs 1 lb 12 1/2 oz unboxed.
Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition. Somebody else
ran it through a glass beader, I took some more recent patina off of the
tool. There is some overall light pitting. The steel bit has some
spots of pitting but it's clean for the most part. The edge is pretty
banged up and this will need a sharpening. I took some sharp
mushrooming off of the hammer poll, that ain't perfect but it's better
than it was. The eye has a couple of small checks at the lower end but
they don't travel too far inside. Pretty and perfect left town on this
guy a while ago but these guys sure don't show up very often. $28.00

from the edge to the end of the socket, the blade is 5 7/8" long, and
this weighs 7 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and
was cleaned. There is some light frosting and a few dots on the back
but nothing too bad. The edge does have a few chips and will need a
little work. The sides and top have some staining and a little patina
as well. The socket has some pitting and I did take some mushrooming
off of the outside and inside. That ain't perfect but it's better than
it was. This will need a handle, I don't have any here that would fit.
This ain't minty but it is a quality tool. $17.00

Four AMT Paring Or Bevel Edge Chisels With Case. There is a 1/4", 1/2",
3/4", 1", and this all weighs 1 lb 3 1/2 oz unboxed. These are NOS
(that's New Old Stock) or pretty darn close. They don't show any wear
at all, just some dings and what have you from being banged around for
the past 20 some years since AMT went out of business. The backs still
have the protective coating on them. The pretty red case is good other
than a few bits of that and this. These ain't top of the line but you
sure ain't gonna get much better for this kind of money. $22.00

little less than 1/8" square at the tip, 1/2" square at the top of the
blade, and this weighs 2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This
is in used but good condition and was not cleaned. There are a few
spots of very light patina but nothing too bad. The edges have some
light dings but they are good for the most part. The edges of the tang
have some roughness. This ain't minty but it's better than 95% of these
that I see. $16.00

3/16" from the edge to the end of the socket, the blade is 6 1/8" long,
this is 12" overall, and this weighs 4 oz unboxed. The mark is a little
faint but it can be read. This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned. The back of the blade has some small spots and some frosting
but nothing that can't be worked out as this is sharpened. The rest of
the blade also has a few spots and some staining. I did clean some
mushrooming off of the end of the socket, that ain't perfect but it's
better than it was. The handle is a replacement. That has some
staining and dings but it will do the job. $18.00

Original .41 Cal Black Powder Flintlock Round Ball Bullet Mold.
Measuring 4 3/8" long, the cavities are .410 in diameter according to my
micrometer here, and this weighs 1 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the
maker. This is in decent condition for being well over 100 years old
and was cleaned. There is some overall light pitting and patina. The
cavities have some light crusty inside but that will cook off as this is
heated. There is a whisker of light showing through when this is
closed. The edges of the sprue cutter will need a little work with a
file. This ain't minty but I sure ain't been seeing too many of these
guys around of late. $24.00

one is marked Pat Appl'd For. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is a little patina. The lead screw is good. The blade
has some dings on the edges mostly at the top. The tang has a hole in
it, why I don't know. I did some looking and these guys must not have
been made for very long cause there ain't much out there on them and
this is the first one I've seen in over 20 years of selling old tools.

long, the cut is 11/16" in diameter across the end of the blade, and

shape for the age and was cleaned. The edges are good but could stand a
quick touchup. The tang has a few dings on the edges but that is good
to go. I gotta say that this is a neat older bit and tools like this
sure don't show up very often. $14.00

NJ. This isn't marked but none of them were. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some overall light patina but
nothing too bad. There are user initials on both sides of the shaft.
The handle has some light checks and dings but nothing too bad and it
turns freely. This ain't the prettiest but finding these guys out in

is some light pitting on the body. The setting wheel has some wear to
the tips. All the screws work and were oiled. The handle is maple.

are some spots of pitting at the edge on the back and a few lighter
spots on the rest of the blade. The inside also has some patina but
that was never finished off real pretty like to start with. This will
need a sharpening. The tang has some pitting and some dings on the
edges but that is good to go. This ain't minty but these guys sure

Vintage Slitting Marking Gage Or Gauge. The beam is 8 15/16" long and
this weighs 4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. The beam is
boxwood and the head looks to be beech. This is in decent condition and
was cleaned. The beam has some staining and wear and somebody added a
series of small nails to use this as a mortising gage. I got one of
them out but the rest refused to move and those I filed down and tapped
in. The blade is good and there is lots to work with but it will need a
sharpening. The tip of the one brass wedge is broken off but it does
the job. The head has some staining and wear and there is a spot on the
front that was carved out for some reason and a small knot hole on the
back. The locking screw is slow to move but it does hold. The head
travels the full distance of the beam. This ain't pretty or perfect but
it will get the job done. $19.00

1/8ths and 16ths on the other side. The rule has some frosted spots but
nothing too bad patina wise. The edges have a few light dings and the
corners have a little wear but all the rulings are readable. The head
has some wear to the finish. The machined surfaces have some frosting
as well. The level vial is good and the scribe is MIA. The locking
screw works and was oiled. This is true but if you want .001 accuracy,

and this weighs 15 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, just marked
1/2 on the heel which is the stock size. This is in reasonably good
condition and was cleaned. There are the usual stains and dings on the
body. There is a scratch on the heel but it's not a check. The sole
has scratches and there is a little wear at the toe but the mouth is
tight. This does not have a fence but that's the way that it was made.
The cutting face of the iron is clean other than a few stained spots.
The profile is correct. The edge will need a light sharpening. The
wedge is good other than a few dings. All in all this is a good working

L S Starrett Machinist No 166 B Pin Vise. This weighs 3/4 oz unboxed.
This is in used condition and was cleaned. There really ain't much in
the way of patina other than the usual shop wear. The chuck has some
light scuffing on the knurling but the rest is good as are the jaws. The
hard rubber handle has some spots and dings, but that is good and it's
clear all the way through. This ain't minty but it sure ain't bad

unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The
blade has a few scratches and a couple of light spots of pitting but
it's clean for the most part. The handle is good and the machined
surfaces are clean. The plating has a little funky and staining but
almost all of it is there. This looks to be true but if you want .001
accuracy, well go buy a Starrett. This ain't minty but it's better than

Early Hand Forged Wrought Iron Wing Compass Or Divider. Measuring 9
1/2" from the tips to the top of the joint and this weighs 10 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and
was cleaned. There is the usual patina but nothing too bad overall.
The lap joint is good and holds position. This will need a screw, it
looks like someone drilled out the original hole and tapped it all the
way through but I don't have anything that would do this justice. The
tips are good. There is a thin crack on one side of the opening when
the wing is fixed too, but that's doesn't go all the way around and the
wing doesn't move. This ain't perfect but these older ones rarely are.

General No 840 Doweling Jig. This all weighs 2 lbs 9 1/2 oz unboxed.
This has the original box and the auger bit depth stop. This is in used
but good condition and was not cleaned. There is a little wear to the
finish on the top of the wheel but the holes are all good. The rest of
the tool is good. All the screws work. The auger bit depth stop is
good as well. The box is in fair condition and I did tape up the base
to keep it together. But it ain't like you are going to be buying this
just for a pretty box, eh? This is a good solid working tool to say the
least. $23.00

Stanley No 60 1 1/2 Inch Paring Or Bench Chisel. Measuring 4 7/16" from
the edge to the top of the handle, the blade is 2 3/4" long, this is 8
1/16" overall, and this weighs 8 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably
good condition and was cleaned. The back is good. The top has some
staining and a few light spots of pitting. The edge is fairly sharp but
there are a few tiny dings. The handle has little wear and a wee bit of
paint on the back. The plating on the striking button is a memory but
it's not too bad otherwise. This ain't pristine but these wider ones
sure ain't been showing up much of late. $23.00

Early User Crafted Mortising Gage Or Gauge. The one arm is 4 1/2" long,
the other is 4 3/8", the head is 2 3/8" by 2 1/8", 1 1/16" thick, and
this weighs 3 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is
made of beech. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There are
some stains on the arms and head, and some wear on the arms by the
points. The points are worn, the one will leave a mark, the other one
is dull. This had points at the other end of the beam at some point in
history. The beams have some dings from the screw. The locking screw
works. This ain't fancy or pretty but it is a neat early tool. $18.00

Stanley No 66 Type 1 Hand Beader To Restore. This weighs 14 1/2 oz
unboxed. Justus A. Traut of New Britain, CT was granted Pat. No.
335,856 on Feb. 9, 1886 for the design of the fence used on this tool.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned by someone else who sprayed
it with the shiny stuff. The japanning is pretty much a memory. The
sole has some frosting and scratches. Somebody widened the mouth to
allow for a wider blade. There also is a chip on the front of the
mouth. The clamp and screw are good. This will need the fence and
screw but those ain't that hard to make. This is what it is but you
ain't gonna get much more for this kind of money. $22.00

Early Hand Forged Wrought Iron Conestoga Wagon Bucket Hook. Measuring 5
3/8" long and this weighs 9 3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned by someone else. It kinda
looks like they either soaked it in something or hit it with the glass
beader Sigh. There is some patina but that comes with the age of the
item. There is the usual wear on the insides of the hooks and the one
lip has a chip off the side but most of it is there. These guys sure
ain't been showing up much around these here parts. $17.00

Old C S Osborne 7/8 Inch Leather Punch. Measuring 5 1/16" and this
weighs 11 3/4 oz unboxed. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
There are some scuffs on the head from being sharpened. The edge is a
little uneven but it feels sharp to the touch. The finish has some
wear. The striking end is flared and looks like it was dressed at some
point but there are no cracks that I can see. This ain't pristine but
it's an old one for sure. $15.00

Two Hand Forged 4 Inch Cabinet Makers Pinch Dogs. Measuring 4 1/16" and
4 1/8" across the tips, 2 11/16" high, and they weigh 4 3/4 oz unboxed.
Not signed as to the maker. These are in decent condition and were
cleaned. There ain't much patina to fuss about. The tips are bent a
little and will need a little sharpening but I'll leave that in your
capable hands. The tops are good with little in the way of dings. This
ain't perfect but these bigger ones sure ain't been showing up much at
all. $16.00

Interesting Metal Body Grooving Plane. Measuring 6 5/8" long, 2 3/8"
high at the rear, the cut is 1/4" across, and this weighs 5 3/4 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and
was not cleaned. My guess is that this was user crafted. There is some
light patina overall. The front eye screw locks down the blade, the
back screw is to set the depth of the cut. This will need a blade but
that won't take too much cussing and kicking. This ain't fancy but it
is a neat tool to say the least. $24.00

Buck Bros 1 5/8 Inch Wood Plane Iron. Measuring 7 7/16" long, 1 5/8"
wide across the edge, and this weighs 6 1/2 oz unboxed. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. There is the usual patina on the iron
body but the top was never hammered on. The steel cutting face has some
light rust etching and some pin-point pitting but nothing too bad and
there is lots to work with. This would make a good scrub plane iron but
it's not a common size for a tapered iron in any case. $17.00

Uncommon Stanley Rosewood No 85 1/2 Panel Marking Gauge Or Gage. The
beam is 20 1/2" long, the head is 7" wide, and this weighs 12 1/4 oz
unboxed. This isn't signed but Stanley wasn't real big on marking their
rosewood gauges. This is in good condition and was cleaned. The beam
has some light dings and stains and there is a well done hanging hole at
the end so you won't have to drill one yourself. The head is good other
than user initials stamped on the front. The point screw works and the
point does remove. That is bent a little but the tip is good. The
locking screw on the head does it's job. The brass shoe between the
head and the beam is a correct replacement. This ain't pristine but it
sure ain't bad and these guys do not show up very often. $100.00

Consolidated Tool Works No 310 10 Inch Sweep Brace. Measuring 14 1/8"
long and this weighs 2 lbs 6 1/2 oz unboxed. The Consolidated Tool
Works was in business from 1890 until the 1920's which puts this guy in
the 100 year old plus category. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is some light pitting on the ratchet housing, the frame
is fairly clean. The chuck shell has some wear but the marks are
readable. The jaws are good, they never had a spring. The ratchet
works in both directions and the locked position. The grip is good
other than a few tiny dings and has most of the original finish. The
grip has some wear and there are few bits of paint there and here. The
screws look to be replacements. I did put some oil down inside the
collar. There is some play on the shaft. This ain't pristine but I
sure ain't seen too many of these guys that are. $24.00

Five Newton Double End Slim Taper 8 Inch Files. They are 8 1/16" long,
9/32" across the flat at the center, and they weigh 5 1/2 oz unboxed.
The Newton File Co was a New Jersey based maker. These are NOS (New Old
Stock) but they have some funky on them them from the paper wrapper and
some light rust spots. But they still are sharp. They ain't pretty or
perfect but you sure ain't gonna walk into the local hardware store and
buy files of this quality for this kind of money. $20.00

11/16" in diameter, the peen is 9/16" in diameter, and this weighs 3 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in reasonably good
condition and was cleaned. There ain't much in the way of patina other
than some light dings on the sides of the eye. The face also has some
light dings and a hint of mushrooming on the edge. The peen is good.
The eye is good to go as well. Drop this guy on a handle and it's ready
to work. $16.00

18th Century Hand Forged Compass Or Divider. Measuring 6 5/8" long and
this weighs 3 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There are a few spots of
pitting by the head on the back but this is good for the most part. The
5 finger (3+2) joint is good and holds position. That joint was used on
better quality tools. The arms are bent inward, why I can't say for
sure, except that somebody must have needed it like this. Stuff
happens. This ain't minty but these guys sure are getting few and far
between, at least round here. $28.00
