The wimpier ones were marketed as HANDI-VISE.  I have one still in the
original box, and one sans box.  They work nicely.  I decided to try
them because I was used to the Chinese and Vietnamese pinch vises
mounted to their planing benches.  A few months ago I saw a cast iron
version just like yours Kirk, and snatched it up for not much money.
