I'm at work so I can't look at the pics, but from the description, I would
conjecture either a punch press (you use a punch and die to punch work from
strip metal- these are quite common in many sizes, and show up cheap third hand,
as people buy them based on the high specified force without understanding that
they are not suitable as a shop press) or a small stamping press.
