Fenton & Marsden Sheffield Brass & Rosewood Level. Measuring 8 15/16"
long, 1 1/16" wide, 1" high, and this weighs 13 1/4 oz unboxed. The
original Fenton & Marsden were Sheffield toolmakers in business from
1839 until 1847, however the mark was used by the Marsden Brothers until
1899. The mark is a little faint but can be read. This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. Both upper and lower brass
plates have some dings and scuffs. The clear level vial is good. The
rosewood body is also good. The large screw at the end on the underside
is used to level this and that works. This ain't pristine but these
guys sure do not show up very often, at least around here. $30.00

and a few tiny bits of paint down in the grain. These ain't minty but
they are the tools to have for this kind of work. $125.00

sole also has some frosting, light dings, and scratches. The japanning
is original and about 95% overall. There is a little funky and a few
tiny bits of paint that didn't want to come off. The lever cap is good
for the most part, the plating is flaked a little on the one side of the
lever, there are some dots on the body, and a little glazing. The
chipbreaker is good. The blade has some patina on the exposed areas and
the back but the cutting face is clean and there is lots to work with.
The edge has some chips but the blade will need a sharpening anyways.
The tote and knob are good other than some light dings. All the screws
work and were oiled. This ain't minty but overall it sure ain't bad.

1/8" from the edge to the end of the socket, the blade is 4 7/8" long,
this is 11 5/16" overall, and this weighs 2 1/2 oz unboxed. This looks
to be one of the marks used in the 1870's to 1880's. The Cast Steel is
faint and partial. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The
back of the blade has a couple of lightly pitted spots, some frosting,
and one scuffed spot in the center. The sides and top have some
pitting. There is a slight bend to the blade looking from the top. The
socket is good for the most part save for spot of pitting at the end.
The apple wood handle looks to be the original one. That has some
stains and some light checks. There was some mushrooming removed from
the striking end at some point. These ain't minty but there ain't too
many of these guys of this age that have survived the journey. Just
saying. $19.00

The face has some wear, a small dimple in the center, and a whisker of
mushrooming around the edge. The punch end is a little dulled. The
nail claws are good. The breaking edge on the shaft is good. The
stacked leather washer handle is little loose. I gave the nut a try but

There is the usual patina found on these tools. Both edges have been
dressed down a bit and could stand a touch up. The punched eye is good
other than the fact that it's on a little bit of an angle to the body
(the blacksmith must have had a rough night eh?). These guys sure have

This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some light
pitting on the one side of the blade and some frosting on the other
side. The handle is old. That does have a check down the one side but
the blade is in tight thanks to a lead ferrule that is big enough to use
as a spare tire on a Mini Cooper. There are some dings on the end.

measuring 6 9/16" overall, the blade is 4" long, and they weigh 6 1/2
oz unboxed. Dunlap was a brand name used by Sears on some of the their
wood working tools and Worth tools were made by P. S. & W. for Bigelow &
Dawes Co of Boston, Mass prior to WWII. These are in reasonably good
condition and were cleaned. The Dunlap is clean on the back and overall
other than a few dots on the socket. The Worth has some overall
staining and a scuff on the back. The edge on that will need some
work. Both sockets are good. These will need handles, I don't have any
here that fit. These ain't perfect but they sure ain't bad and they are

Early Hand Forged Denglestock PA Dutch Scythe Sharpening Anvil &
Hammer. The denglestock is 6 1/16" long, the face is 1 3/16" wide,
the hammer is 9 7/16" overall, the head is 3 5/16" long, the face is
15/16" square, the peen is 1 1/16" wide, and they weigh 1 lb 10 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. Now what's a denglestock (also
spelled dengelstock and a bunch of other ways as well), you ask? Well
them old PA Dutch (German) farmers, being of a thrifty (also know as
cheap) bunch, instead of grinding down their scythe blades, would stick
the denglestock into a stump or the top of a fence post and using a
cross peen hammer (called the dengle of all things) would draw out the
edge of the blade till it was sharp and then dress it with a stone.
Pretty neat eh? These are in decent condition and were cleaned. The
denglestock has some overall patina and there is some chipping to the
iron body on the one side where the steel face is laid. The spike end
was sharpened recently. The head on the hammer has some dings, punch
marks, and user initials. The face has some dings and the peen is good.
The handle is old and could be the original one. That has some chipping
on the front below the eye and stains and dings. The head is on tight
thanks to a big wedge that sticks out a little. These ain't minty but
sets like these rarely show up anymore. $45.00

of their products. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The
beam has some wear on the underside and some dings on the top from the
screw. The beam is straight and the tip is good. The head has some
dings on the edges but no real wear on the faces. The brass screw
works. This ain't minty but these guys sure don't show up very often,
at least around these here parts. $17.00

Brown & Sharpe No 800 6 Inch Divider. Measuring 6 3/4" from the tips to
the top of the spring, and this weighs 2 3/4 oz unboxed. The mark looks
to be one of the older ones. This is in reasonably good condition and
was cleaned. There ain't much in the way of patina other than a little
funky up inside the spring area. The screw has a few light dings but it
travels the full distance. The tips and spring are good to go. This
ain't perfect but it is a quality older tool. $22.00

Two Fulton Socket Firmer Chisels. The 1/4" is 8 1/4" overall, the blade
is 5 7/8" long, the 1/2" is 8 1/16" overall, the blade is 5 13/16" long,
and they weigh 7 1/4 oz unboxed. These are in decent condition and were
cleaned. Both of them have some spots of light pitting on the backs but
they are clean for the most part. They also have some light pitting on
the sides and tops. The sockets also have some patina and they 1/2" has
a whisker of mushrooming on the outside. They will need handles, I
don't have any here that will fit. These ain't perfect but they will
get the job done. $24.00

Two Vintage Buck Bros Brace Bits. There is a screwdriver bit, measuring
5/16" across the tip, a countersink bit, 5/8" in diameter, and they
weigh 3 oz unboxed. These are in reasonably good condition and were
cleaned. Both have some staining and a little frosting but nothing too
bad. The tip on the screwdriver was dressed at some point but it's good
to go. The edge on the countersink could stand a quick touch up. The
tangs have some dings and the screwdriver bit had a little mushrooming
removed. These ain't minty fresh but they sure ain't bad. $15.00

Vintage Stortz Phila Oyster Clam Shucking Knife. Measuring 8 1/2"
overall, the head is 2 3/4" long, 1/2" wide, the handle is 3/4" square,
and this weighs 14 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition
and was cleaned. The head has some light pitting but that's an
occupational hazard with these guys. The edge is good. The handle has
some scaling left over from when this was made and a little patina as
well. There is a wee bit of mushrooming on the end. This ain't minty
but it sure ain't bad and Stortz is a collectible maker of these tools.

Stanley No 20 8 Inch Cabinet Makers Try Square. This weighs 6 3/4 oz
unboxed. This is in decent condition and was not cleaned, at least by
me. The blade has some spots of rust. The original bluing is worn.
The edges and corners are good and all the rulings are readable. The
handle has some dings on the edges and a little wear to the original
finish. This is true according to my reference square. This ain't
minty but it will get the job done. $16.00

Small Hand Forged Claw Hammer. Measuring 11" overall, the head is 3
3/4" long (straight across), the face is 11/16" wide, 9/16" high, the
claws are 1" wide across the ends, and this weighs 7 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
The head has some light pitting and dings on the sides. The face also
has some dings and wear and I did rule a file over some sharp bits of
mushrooming on the edges. The claws are good. THe handle is old but
probably not the original one. That has some dings and stains but it's
solid. I did tap in the wedge and the head is on tight sitting here.
This ain't perfect but these smaller ones rarely show up much better.

Vintage Rosewood Handle No Leather Rein Trimmer. Measuring 5 5/8" long,
1/4" across the outside of the tips, 3/16" across the insides, and this
weighs 1 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in reasonably
good condition and was cleaned. The head has some frosting, staining,
and a few spots of light pitting. The edge feels good to the touch.
The rosewood handle has a repaired check under the ferrule and a few
light dings. The head won't be coming out anytime soon either. This
ain't pristine but I sure don't sell too many of these guys around with
this kind of handle. Just saying. $18.00

Unusual Brace Style Adjustable Wrench. Measuring 12 1/4" long, the
sweep is 8". the jaws are 11/16" across when closed, and this weighs 1
lb 15 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some frosting and light patina
overall. The jaws have a little wear on the tips. There is some funky
inside the chuck. The chuck looks like it should rotate but I can't get
it to move. The grip and pad are painted hardwood. They have some wear
to the finish and a few dings but both are solid and spin freely. This
ain't the fanciest but it is neat older tool. $24.00

face is 7/8" square, the peen is 15/16" wide, and this weighs 14 1/2 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, this is a tinsmith's panel
hammer. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There are some
dings and overall light pitting on the head. The face has some small
chips around the edge and some frosting and dings. The peen also has
some dings. The square punched eye is good to go. This ain't pretty or
perfect but it does have some age to it and it will get the job done.

Detroit Stove Works Anvil Paperweight. Measuring 4 1/4" long, 2 3/16"
high, and this weighs 7 1/2 oz unboxed. There is 22 stamped on the
base, might be a year or a production run number. This is in decent
condition and was lightly cleaned. Just light brushing and wash to get
rid of some crusty. This is some kind of diecast metal. The original
gold paint is worn but some of it is present. There is some overall
patina going on and it is missing a little bit of the horn. This ain't
minty but these guys rarely are. $40.00

Three Vintage Wood Handle Leather Tools. Top to bottom, there is a No.
6 edge beveler measuring 5/16" across the outside of the head, 1/8"
across the inside of the groove, a No. 11 and a No. 18 stitch marking
wheel, and they weigh 3 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
These are in decent condition and were cleaned. The head of the edge
beveler has some staining near the front of the back and a pitted spot
farther down, and a little pitting on the sides on the top but nothing
that will interfere with this being used. Both of the wheels are good
and leave a strong mark. There is a little pitting on the sides and
shafts. The handles are japanned hardwood. They have some wear and
dings and the grain on the No. 11 is a little rougher. They are solid
and the heads are in tight. These ain't pretty or perfect but they will
the job done. $50.00

Two Vintage Leather Stitching Awls. The upper one is 4 3/16" long, the
lower one is 5 3/16" long, and they weigh 1 3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed
as to the maker. These are in decent condition and were cleaned. The
handle on the upper one is good other than some stains and the chuck
works. The handle on the lower one has some wear around the center but
it's solid. The tips both have a little light pitting. They will need
a sharpening. These ain't minty but they sure ain't getting any easier
to come by. $18.00

Hand Forged Name Stamp. Measuring 3 15/16" long, the figures are 1/4"
high, and this weighs 9 1/4 oz unboxed. The mark is J. Lundy. Not
signed as to the maker, there is a different name stamped in a couple of
places on the handle, my guess is that this was original a stone mason's
tool. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some
overall patina. The figure was struck a little uneven and has some wear
but there still is plenty left. The striking end had some mushrooming
removed at some point before this got here and that is good to go. This
is what it is, but it is a collectible old tool. $18.00

Blacksmith Hand Forged Slag Chipping Hammer Head. Measuring 6" long, 1
1/16" across the straight edge, and this weighs 11 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
There is the usual patina found on these tools. I dressed the pointy
end a little but that could stand a little more work. The straight edge
has a small chip off of the one end and could also stand a little
dressing. There is some chipping around the top of the eye but there
still is plenty there to put on a handle. This ain't pretty or perfect
but it will get the job done. $15.00

AMT Chip Carving Knife. Measuring 2 1/2" from the tip to the top of the
handle, 8 1/8" overall, the blade is a little over 3/8" wide, and this
weighs 2 oz unboxed. AMT sold several different grades of chip knifes
and this one of the better ones. This is in reasonably condition and
was not cleaned. The blade is pristine and sharp. The handle has a
little chipping on the one one edge and there are a couple of checks to
the grain at the end but it's solid. This ain't the fanciest but it
will get the job done. $14.00
