ok, I've been on the list a while.  I was on the list several years ago and
posted a bio then, but I figure that my situation has changed a little bit
so I'd post a new one.

My name is Paul Aud, I'm a 19 year old College student at the University of
Kentucky.  I am majoring in Civil Engineering and hope to graduate within
the next 5 years with a bachelors (hoping to CO-OP).  I learned power tool
techniques from my father.  While not exactly a "fine craftsman," he got
the job done.  I was unsatisfied with the job quality that I produced when
I merely copied his method(he'd had a lot longer to practice, and made it
look SO easy), so I developed a little patience.  When I had to use
handtools, I was usually frustrated with the time it took, but my father
isn't exactly the best at tool maintainance either.  I've been in college
for 1 1/2 years, and I was tired of not being to practice woodworking.
Since I am a resident advisor in a dorm, I figured hand tools were the way
to go.  I've got a few (need a couple more planes), but basically have
enough to make most things I need.  I built myself a bench over Christmas
break and am working on a treadle lathe.  I will also be building some
clamps soon as I don't have the money to buy them, but I do have the
materials.  As soon as I get my "shop" (it's in my room) finished, I hope
to start building a toy chest for my newest niece (who is to be born in a
week or two).  Although I've only been on the list for a couple of months,
everyone has provided invaluable information for me.  Thank you all for
