274703 Tony Seo 2021‑10‑15 Jacktown Fall 2021 Steam Engine Show & Flea Market
Today was the the unofficial opening of the Jacktown Fall 2021 Steam
Engine Show & Flea Market.  The show is Saturday and Sunday, but it pays
to hit the flea market on Friday as guys are starting to set up.  The
ride over was mostly in dark, fortunately the deer stayed in bed.   For
some reason, not many were today, there were only 2 open when I got
there at 7:00 AM and only 5 when I left at 9:00 AM.

From the heavy side of things I got a mill pick head, a smaller
cooper's adze head, a 2 lb or so cross peen hammer head, a neat iron
brace that somebody forge welded a twist bit onto the end, an original
hand forged pot hook, a pair of blacksmith tongs, a Stanley No. 4 plane,
Type 18 in the usual condition, a pair of Taiwan stretching pliers, and
a Starrett level that needs some work.

On the smaller side of things, I got a nice complete K & E drafting set,
a set of Santo (Japan) small brace auger bits in the case, a user made
tap holder dated 1908, a screwplate, a bundle of double end canvas or
sailmaker's needles, a Stanley No. 36 caliper rule, a small Starrett
outside caliper, and a Russwin adjustable wrench.

The ride back was aggravating, mainly because the PA Dept of
Transportation picked today to work on the one back road I use,
resulting in sitting in traffic for 1/2 hour.  Sigh.  But I survived and
unless the rain that is a maybe at this point, gets serious, I'll be
back tomorrow.

Tony (always on the run...)
