Hello All,

my name is Bill Chamberlain I live in western NY about dead center
between the citys of buffalo and Rochester. I do a Bit of Smithing
and partisipate in the SCA A liberal type reinactor Group. The local
Group has a few people that apreciate Quality tools when they where
made to last.

As far as getting any thing done in the shop I find my self mostly
working on armour and what not. I do some wood working but it is mostly
rough things like handles for my hammers Mallets axes and such when they
finaly wear out.

I found this list some time ago when I was looking documentation on
processing pine sap in to Brewers pitch for sealing some leather
Drinking vesels. after learning a bit I decided to say and learn a bit
on repairing and sharpening tools I find at local auctions and shops.

My lord you need to be more precise, Thescorre or the
Rhydderich Hael (Rochester or Buffalo SCA chapter Jeff ;-)?

I would think you might be Lord Caradawc from Thescorre
but if so have you moved west? (I regret I am not certain
of his mundane name )

The folks are friendly and there are a few gentles on
the list including an Eastern squire whose introduction
included a URL to a pic of him in full heavy armour
including helmet.

For machining talk to Baron Devon, but for handtools ask
me. If you need help with something ping me, if you are
from the Hael I expect to be at 12th Night to see Mistress
Rhiannon get her Pelican, and will probably be at 3 Ravens
if you want to meet and talk.

I have made 2 pavilions, the second a "wagon wheel" style,
and can point you to numerous plans on the web for portable
period looking and in many cases documentable furniture. If
made in nice wood and finished properly they look good in the
house between Pennsics.

Someone asked about wooden shields, I believe some are
plywood but most are metal for lighter weight, Karl Rookey
could comment more accurately.

Welcome to the most courteous group on the net!

Esther ska Lady Otelia d'Alsace from the industrious barony of Thescorre
