GDLGs, FWIW, I met John Gardner once, about fifteen years ago. He was
one of those special people. I have seen the Oughtred designs and they
are beautiful. Would love to build one. Unfortunately, with the larger
project looming over my head, I'm afraid to undertake a lapstrake boat
right now, and am leaning toward a simply plywood (oops, is that a taboo
word here?) design. Possibly one of the Glenn-L dories. Something that I
can literally put together in two or three easy weekends and drop in the
water in April for messing about while the big project goes on and on.
