After years of trimming balsa with a razor plane, and picking up pieces
of crashed radio controlled airplanes, I've gotten into woodworking. I
find hand tools particularly satisfying, especially when I've learned to
tune and sharpen them by reading galoot epistles. I have a modest
assortment of tools now, and have enjoyed making toys, clocks, boxes and
other small stuff. I put the boxes to good use for the jigsaw puzzles I
make. My favorite was the poster of the Studley tool chest which I
desecrated by cutting into puzzle pieces including scale cutouts of many
tools.
In real life I am a theological librarian. I live in Mesquite, Texas,
but haven't tried working mesquite wood yet. Hope to get over to the
SWTCA in Arlington tomorrow.
