Thank you all for sharing with me the knowledge and wisdom you have
garnered over the years. Ok thats a bit thick but really thanks. Now for my
Bio I am a 42 year old divorced father of 2 adult children. My eldest has
given me two grandsons. I built my first chair when I was 7, the type where
the pedestal and backrest was one piece from scrap wood. I had been a trim
carpenter for 21 years. Now I own my own company. I live in NY on Long
Island and make frequent trips to Utica to visit the Grand kids. It was on
one of these trips that I picked up a saw That I am having trouble ID'ing.
It was made by A.H. + I Co. of Albany, New York. The etching Says
"Carpenters Choice"
# 39, Spring Steel
Patent Temper Patent Ground
There is something else written in scrip below this I cant quite make it out
The Handle medallion has a patent date of Dec. 27, 1827
Attached is a Photo. The handle has been user modified by cutting the
bottom horn sometime in the past to resemble ? a disston saw.
If any one has info on this saw or knows of any good hunting grounds in New
York Please reply.
